Wenger Super Sharpener

Felt an urge to blog again! So, I recently bought the Wenger Super Sharpener  and now Im doing a noob review about it!

So thats how it came in, i ripped the plastic covering off already.. whoops, not much, the icon saids it really works, and yes, it does. The back has simple instructions in four languages, really simple, just place the knife on the table and stick the blade between the two metal tips and drag across the blade from handle to tip. Now, the instructions said 4-5 times should sharpen the blade, but I personally think you should “repeat until sharp”.

The sharpener is small and light, fits the hand nicely and also has a hand guard so you don’t cut yourself =O! I personally like to hold my knife in one hand and the sharpener in another then swipe horizontally, bit weird to mold your hand into the grip if you place the knife on the table =S.

The instructions claim to be able to sharpen serrated blades. Personally haven’t tried it since I don’t have a serrated knife, lets hope my friend dulls his knife soon that way I can give it a whirl.

Nonetheless, a very easy to use, cheap sharpener! No need to get expensive diamond files that require you to figure out angles and what not! Annnddd! Theres also no need for lube when sharpening! =D

I haz not the ability to blog..so you only get photos =) hopefully i’ll pull out my camera when the weather becomes nicer, but now you only get to enjoy 2 of my artsy fartsy photos from new york =P

NEW TOYS! =)

soo, last week..with minimal convincing, i managed to land my hands on a new toy =)

I got myself a Canon 430EXII Speedlight from Broadway Camera for $299.99. =) also, i got a nice Sto-Fen Omni Bounce as a diffuser. The diffuser works wonders! Makes the flash soo much less harsh!

So i took my flash to work the next day for a wedding! =O Congrats to Anna and Peter! Got some pretty neat photos and learned that wedding photos are hard to take!

NEVER SHOOT IN ISO 800 T_T! had to push it that high because my shutter speeds were wayy to low for anything that was moving =( oh well! it wasn’t professional so its all good =P

ULTIMMATEE!

wooo! soo…ultimate season ended as of saturday! wooo! our team did a very impressive season score of 0-9-0 with 0 pts =D GOOO HOUNNDS! WOOOHOOOO! HAHAHA! well, it wasn’t all THAT bad, we did have a fun game with the fourth ranked in our tier…TEMP! haha, we started off with the season playing against them at magee..and man, did we get ravaged! and now! THE TABLES HAVE TURNNNEEDD! DUN DUN DUNNNN….

WITH THE ASWEUM MOTIVATION BY OUR ASWEUM COACHES..minus jeff XD leaving Brandon and Josh anndd the asweumm B TEAM’S GODLY ULTIMATE SKILLS! (minus gab =D ) WE PWNNEEDD TEMP! with an assweeumm score of 11-6 =D woooo! hahaha, our highest score ever acheived and also the first game we won! ohoho! double whammy!

mhmmm! WOOO! BOY ARE WEE HAPPYY! TEHEHEHEH! can’t say we have been through ups and downs all season..casue were were in the downs..butt…we’ve redeemed ourselvess! great job everyonnnee! =D GOOOO HOUUNDSSS ^^

another saturday…

okay..i’ve competely forgot what i was going to blog about 2 days ago…how sad..it’ll come back to me eventually =(

WOOO! wait…WIIII!

shit..i pressed backspace and it went to the previous page…delteing my post…=( kay, now to start all over!

sooo…on thursday during my springbreak, i’ve finally become the owner of the newest generation of nintendo television consoles =D A WII!

Soo…that thursday was the my real first day of spring break and..it was a verrry verry interesting day…this is how it went…

getting up at around 10 in the morning, i messaged garvie to see if we were going to spend our day at the mall, but during this 1 hour of convo, garvie was still waiting for his dreadful phone call to work. luckily he didn’t have to go..so we went out to my families “favourite” restaurant, jong kee, to eat dim sum! horray? lunch was okay, all the usual stuff, so we decide to head out to metro via the 19 bus! soo..garvie’s mom pulls out 3 miillion quaters for the bus money, while doing that, we missed a bus, how sad! LUCKY for us..a bus came about 5 mins later with..what i thought to be a normal driver. She said thank you when i stuck the ticket in…normal, for some nicer drivers…thenn…the fun starts to happen. Being very nice…(or high) she acutally said “have a good one” to EVERYONE that got of the bus, well, bit unsual, but w/e we just ignored her…untill…..

so we reached the bus stop near collingwood? i belive and she had to be exact, we were 30 secs early. great! 30 sec of waiting oh well…10 more seconds…OH GREAT! I DON’T HAVE TO KEEEP COUNT! THE BUS DRIVER IS COUNTING FOR US! she acutally went and yelled out 10 -9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 anddd. AWAY WE GOOO! i’ve concluded she was high.

the rest of our bus ride was pretty oridinary until she told us to pay 2 zone fare which i’ve never heard about, but i refused! got to metro safely and we started our epic walkaround!

@ metro..we basically wondered aimlessly looking for presents for kelsey annd going to superstore to develop film, finally ended up wiht a very cool card wiht sounds for kelsey annd..we basically wondered around more.. andd. we headed to best buy!

@ best buy!…so we went in..competely forgettign what we were doing ( getting a wii and a pressie for brian) figured out 2 secs later…soo we headed out to the gamining section. now, one of these nice employees came up to me asking if i needed help, as a natural reaction…i said no…so i went hunting for wiis around the store only to find 1 that is used for demo and 30 other boxes for 360 and ps3s, upset i had to find the guy i turned down to ask him for the wii…luckily i picked up the last one! =D YAY! pretty cool guy, telling me to buy a wireless nunchuck because for some odd reason..his friend managed to get a whiplash from the cord..=S the hell!?!? well, luggin the wii wiht wii play back to metro, i realized the wii was acutally a hevy product, but..i managed…

@superstore. so we went bakc to superstore to pick up my film only to find that 11/24 photos DEVELOPED…and about 5 of thouse pictures were acutal pictures that you can see the subject properly!

thenn..we saw connie and her bf, and oddly enough..carson called garvie…VERY WEIRD…and …well…sad news..soo we decided to devoure new york fries for some comfy food ^^ YUMM!

during tahtt dayy..we acutally saw alot of people…alvin^2, michael, some vc guys that garvan knew, connie and victor…yuuppp

headed back home…played wii…that was about it….

yay! wii is assweum! annddd…that bus ride was asweumer! XD

ahh..Friday the 13

horraaay! Black fridaaay! aka..REPORT CARD DAY….and also the start of spring break.. good or bad? =/ well, no cars on my report card luckily…so from the looks of it, i should be able to get my 430II flash, but 1) i want to fuel my camera hobby wiht my own money anddd…2) i want a wii first

So, yesterday was my birthday! horray? I’ve officially turned ooldd! 3! oh dear! Well, to celebrate, went out with garvie and henry because 3 special ladies decided to ditch me =( So…us 3 guys decided to go girl hunting, but we epic failed. =D Party at my house afterwards, CRANIUM! omgg..garvan..coodle..PEACOCK…T_T FAIL!..YET…PASSS!

Anyways! I just wanted to thank everyone for everything! Especially my parents! =D (even tho no ones going to read this..mb i’ll post it on to facebook)

Cleats are very useful

Well well, so today, all was good and I couldn’t wait for ultimate “tryouts”. I quoted tryouts because I personally don’t think it’s a tryout. There are 2 senior teams and about 30 ish people trying out mb even up to 40, but there is around 20 people on a team so well, that means no one gets cut. =D

So, I acutally wasn’t looking foward to ultimate in the morning because it started to rain. Luckily, around midday, the rain stopped, but unlucky for us, grass is planted onto soil, and when soil becomes wet, it turns into mud! Oh the joy!

Well.. ultimate did come by, but before that I had to face a chem quiz in the morning and end the day with a dreadful physics test. Great! My stupid teacher’s tests are like exams! Oh gosh! Well, I acutally managed to get through that, but well, I prefer not to have it.

Oh wait! It doens’t stop there! There’s a French improv tomorrow! (We get a random topic, random partner, and we have to make a conversation for 2 minutes) YAYYY!

So..I’ll jump to the ultimate part. We started off with some casual throwing around, some drills on marking. Yay! I started off drilling with Fred and John >< didn’t do THAT bad, but I could work on my throws a bit. Especailly forehand. (Seems weird since usualy forehand is usualy known as the “strong side” expeically in racquet sports, but in ultimate, backhand is the one everyone usualy knows. Did some more drills, running around. Man! I envy those with cleats! They could acutally run and turn on the dime, but those without cleats, man, we could slide around! It became hard to mark people with this huge circle of mud we all made! Now my used-to-be-white-then-turned-brown shoes..are well.. you can call it total loss. =P Got the sides all covered in mud! Played a game later, our team was lacking the proer players and lack of guys. Didn’t get to sub in for the full 30mins. Naturally, we lost, but I was happy to score two points. Easy ones tho. Funny how other people’s shorts and shirt are all dirty, but mine are fine..cept my shoes T_T Well, it was pretty fun, cept the fact that I haven’t done this much running in the longest time and that my shoes are really really dirty =(

Well, I’ve asked my parents to get me cleats for my birthday and I’ll probably invest in a frisbee, but man, those pieces of plastic are like 12 bucks! Gahh! Oh well! Its a sport I like and since I want to improve.. Looking on the bright side, it doesn’t cost as much as stringing a racket of buying tubes of birds.
